Showcasing its cloud-based software-as-a-service (Saas) learning platform ComproDLS Engage is Compro Technologies’s main agenda at Frankfurt. “Unlike traditional offerings that focus on institutional administration, Engage takes a content-first approach with an emphasis on effective learning experiences,” says senior v-p Ravin Minocha. “Engage enables the creation of high-quality learning solutions that are engaging, informative, interactive, and versatile. This flexible and dynamic platform accommodates a variety of content types, including e-books, documents, presentations, flashcards, and videos.”

With Engage, the creation and delivery of digital content can be varied according to learning needs and abilities. “Engage is built on the ComproDLS Learning Stack, which incorporates Big Data learning analytics and provides the necessary foundation for capturing, managing, streaming, and enriching data that underlies personalization,” Minocha says. “So learning experiences can be adapted by assessing skill levels based on the data and analytics. For publishers, such tracking of learning, progress, and content consumption enables actionable insights so that decisions can be made around the content, learner, and market.”

Given the importance of cross-compatibility and open standards in tech solutions, Engage is created with interoperability in mind, Minocha says. “It allows for the integration and incorporation of external/third-party tools for greater functionality in areas such as content creation, design, publication, and distribution. Its open standards-based architecture means easy integration with existing LMSs such as Blackboard, Moodle, and Google Classroom.” Engage is compliant with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA, offering features such as keyboard navigation, transcripts, closed captions, accessible color-palette user interfaces, and screen reader support to ensure content accessibility for all users, including those with cognitive difficulties, vision impairment, and auditory issues.

Using Engage’s full range of Backoffice tools, publishers can easily create or assemble new digital materials and manage user accounts, institution/school affiliations, and various models of subscriptions and entitlements. “Once the content resides in Engage, product catalogs can be created on the fly,” Minocha says. “Publishers have the functionalities to set up flexible business models, access codes, and e-commerce integration, while users can browse, search, and discover textbooks and digital materials speedily—all within the platform. Backoffice is simple to use and requires no technical training.”

Engage is designed inherently for a mobile-first experience, including offline delivery and consumption for courses and learning materials, Minocha says. “Mobile learning is often an afterthought in many solutions and platforms, but not in Engage, which is powered by Amazon Web Services. It is also multilingual and can be adapted for different languages.”
