    Sharjah Book Fair Highlights Importance of Community

    The 40th Sharjah International Book Fair opened today in the United Arab Emirates. The professional program, which started on Sunday and ran through Tuesday, attracted 550 people for panel discussions, rights meetings and networking, placing an emphasis on camaraderie and community.

    Sharjah Book Fair to Feature Nobel Prize-Winner, 1,500 Publishers

    Abdulrazak Gurnah, winner of the 2021 Nobel Prize for Literature, will be among 85 literary guests and authors participating in this year's Sharjah International Book Fair in November. The event will also feature 1,500 publishers, the largest number in the fair's 40-year history.

    The Sharjah International Book Fair opens November 4 and will run for 10 days. It will be a hybrid virtual and live event, and is among the few in-person book fairs to take place since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
