BolognaFiere, which organizes and holds the Bologna Children’s Book Fair each year, will launch a new book industry trade show focused on publishing and international rights and licensing starting next year. The first show is scheduled for June 2018 in New York.

The company has yet to announce partners for the event, but promises more information at the upcoming Bologna Children's Book Fair, to be held from April 3-6. Franco Boni, president of BolognaFiere, said in a statement that "New York is the hub of publishing in the U.S. and is the obvious choice to hold our first event."

In addition to the Bologna Book Fair, BolognaFiere is the organizer of more than 75 Europe-centric trade events in industries that include art, children's publishing, cosmetics, construction, and design.

This year's Bologna Book Fair will, the company said, host "1,300 exhibitors from 75 countries."
