David Dobson has been named acting director of publishing at the Presbyterian Publishing Corporation. Dobson, who had been director of product management since 2004, will now oversee the marketing and editorial programs for PPC's two book imprints. Geneva Press produces church resources and academic books for the denomination; Westminster John Knox is the press's trade imprint, which has published The Gospel According to the Simpsons and other books in the successful Gospel According to… series.

In a statement, acting president and publisher Marc Lewis said, "David Dobson is one of the most skilled, creative and organized publishing professionals that I've worked with in my 34 years in publishing." Lewis was named to his position when Davis Perkins left PPC to head Church Publishing, the Episcopal publishing house.

Other recent promotions at PPC include Jon Berquist to executive editor, biblical studies (from senior editor); and Donald K. McKim to executive editor, theology and reference (from academic and reference editor).
