'Washington Monthly' Announces Book Review Award Recipients

The Washington Monthly magazine has announced that Casey Cep and Boris Dralyuk are the inaugural winners of the Kukula Award for Excellence in Nonfiction Book Reviewing. Cep will receive the award for her review of Kerri K. Greenidge's Black Radical: The Life and Times of William Monroe Trotter, which was published in The New Yorker. Dralyuk will receive the award for his review of Brian J. Boeck's Stalin's Scribe: Literature, Ambition, and Survival: The Life of Michail Sholokhov, which was published in The Los Angeles Review of Books.

The award is named in honor of the late Kukula Kapoor Glastris, the magazine's longtime books editor.
