Wattpad, Sourcebooks Partner on Submission Program

Sourcebooks and online writing community Wattpad have teamed up for a submissions partnership program, that will allow Wattpad users to submit their work to Sourcebook editors via the online platform.

Meant to "circumvent" the slush pile, the new program will also enable editors to monitor how readers are reacting to and interacting with a prospective author’s work.

Sourcebooks and Wattpad previously partnered in 2013 to launch young adult writers through the Sourcebook Fire YA imprint. 

“Wattpad offers a unique place for authors to test their ideas and engage with readers before they turn to the marketplace and build a career,” said Deb Werksman, editorial director for Sourcebooks Casablanca. “We’re excited to offer Wattpad authors an opportunity to submit to us directly through the Wattpad platform, and to nurture their talent further into a full-blown commercial launch.”
