Plough Launches Translated Fiction Program

Plough, the Walden, N.Y.–based independent publisher of books on faith and society, will launch a new fiction in translation program with two titles by Eugene Vodolazkin, author of the international bestseller Laurus. Plough will publish Brisbane, Vodolazkin’s latest novel, translated from the Russian by Marian Schwartz, on April 5 of next year; in April 2023, it will release A History of the Island, which the publisher calls a "humorous and incisive parable about history and time."

In April 2020, Plough published Vodolazkin’s play Sister of the Four, a satirical look at the global pandemic. Future titles, the publisher said, will explore "themes such as belonging, memory, faith, and language." Plough is distributed by Ingram Publisher Services.
