Knopf to Publish Bono's Memoir

Bono, the U2 frontman and activist, will publish a memoir, Surrender, with Knopf on November 1. World rights were acquired by the late Knopf publisher and editor Sonny Mehta seven years ago from Jonny Geller at Curtis Brown. The book will be published simultaneously in hardcover and e-book, and as an audiobook produced by Penguin Random House and narrated by Bono. The book will include forty original drawings by Bono.

"In his unique voice," the publisher said, "Bono takes us from his early days growing up in Dublin, including the sudden loss of his mother when he was fourteen, to U2’s unlikely journey to become one of the world’s most influential rock bands, to his more than twenty years of activism dedicated to the fight against AIDS and extreme poverty."
