Oregon State UP Director Tom Booth to Retire
Tom Booth is set to retire from his role as director of Oregon State University Press (OSUP) at the end of this month. Booth, who first joined the publisher as its marketing manager 33 years ago, was named associate director in 2007 and appointed as director in 2019.
As director, Booth inked co-publishing and distribution partnerships with cultural and historical organizations; negotiated licensing deals with international publishers; and expanded outreach to underrepresented readers.
In a statement, Booth said his tenure at OSUP had “been an honor,” adding, “The work of publishing peer-reviewed scholarship from diverse voices and viewpoints is extremely vital right now, so I’m eager to see where an energetic new director takes the Press.”
A search for Booth’s successor is currently underway.
