Jennifer Lauck, author of the bestselling memoir Blackbird, has signed with the same editor who discovered her, Kim Kanner at Pocket Books, for a sequel that will be published this fall. The deal, for world rights, plus hard/soft, audio and serial, was concluded with Molly Friedrich at the Aaron Priest Agency. The new book will be called Still Waters and will continue the story of Lauck's tragic early life, beyond the loss of both her parents, into her adolescence and beyond. The first book made foreign sales to 12 countries and has sold 125,000 copies here to date, with the author appearing on such shows as Oprah and Rosie O'Donnell.
