The extraordinary story of the Nepalese royal murders—the royal family was decimated by the crown prince, who later killed himself—will be told from the inside in a book just preempted, for six figures, by Talk Miramax editor-in chief Jonathan Burnham. The title is Blood Amid the Snows: The Doomed Royal Dynasty of Nepal and the author is British journalist Jonathan Gregson, represented in the North American rights deal by Kathleen Anderson of Anderson Grinberg, acting for Gregson's London agent, Bill Hamilton at A.M. Heath. Gregson certainly has an inside track—he was largely raised by a Nepali servant of his family in Calcutta and has established extensive ties with the royal family: he interviewed the slain King Birendra and knows the present king, and has been given what is described as unprecedented access to the royal palace.
