At the Penguin Press, Ann Godoff has made good on a promise to hire a senior editor. She has brought on board Crown's Emily Loose. Loose specializes in science, politics and history, and Godoff described her in a company memo as "an editor's editor." Loose recently edited Arianna Huffington's Pigs at the Trough. Other books she edited at Crown include How the Scots Invented the Modern World and Love Stories of World War II.
