Benjamin Franklin: An American Life dropped off PW's bestseller charts in early October, after a 13-week run on the hardcover nonfiction list. It reappeared two months later during the busy holiday season for many reasons, including coverage in year-end roundups in regional and national media. Author Walter Isaacson has done more than 35 bookstore and lecture events since July. According to Simon & Schuster, there are about 555,000 copies after 17 printings.
