How Do Dinosaurs Go to Sleep?
Jane Yolen, illus. by Mark Teague. Blue Sky, $6.99 (12p) ISBN 978-0-545-94120-4
Yolen and Teague return to a subject they covered in their 2000 picture book, How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?, as an unusual group of dinosaurs—concavenator, majungasaurus, and sauropelta, among them—demonstrate how one should and shouldn’t behave at bedtime. A pachyrhinosaurus hides under a bed that’s at least half as big as he is, and a yellow-feathered enigmasaurus wags a claw at its not-so-happy human mom (“Does he scream at his mother that he just won’t go,/ using his favorite words—no no no!”). Once again, Yolen and Teague’s hilarious visions of tantrum-throwing dinos should bring smiles to even the crankiest (and most bedtime-reluctant) kids. Up to age 3. Author’s agent: Elizabeth Harding, Curtis Brown. (Aug.)
