The apps keep coming as both Random House and Workman have announced the release of the first apps from new partnership deals.

RH Children’s Books will release Wild About Books for iPad in the iTunes store on December 16. Based on the New York Times bestselling picture book Wild About Books by Judy Sierra and illustrated by Marc Brown, the app is the first product in the partnership between RHCP and Smashing Ideas. The app will sell for $7.99, but RHCP is making it available at a special introductory price of $4.99. Other titles based on RHCP properties such as Pat the Bunny, Little Golden Books, are scheduled to follow in the coming months.

“Wild About Books for iPad features 16 animated and interactive scenes where kids can tilt, swipe, and tap their way through Sierra’s rollicking rhymed story," RHCP said. "Readers can choose to listen or turn off the narration and read at their own pace. Whether they’re making monkeys flip, beach balls bounce, animals stampede, or bears burp, parents and kids are sure to laugh, learn, and get wild about books together."

Ever wanted to do cool card tricks? Well, there’s an app for that and it’s been developed by Workman Publishing and Vook, the multimedia digital producer. Based on magician Joshua Jay’s book, Magic: The Complete Course, Workman and Vook have developed The 10 Greatest Card Tricks of All Times, an app for the iPad that will be released December 20.

It’s the first app development deal between Workman and Vook; Selina Meere, Workman’s director of publicity, said Workman “is definitely doing more with Vook and expanding the partnership.”

The 10 Greatest Card Tricks of All Times introduces the users to the basics of card hustling before showing off tricks like pulling four aces from a deck or predicting a playing card. The app integrates text with extensive instructional videos that show Jay breaking down the tricks or performing them in front of informal audiences. Workman has also posted a video introduction to the app on YouTube.
