Otto Penzler, the well-known bookseller at the Mysterious Bookshop and former publisher of the mystery line Mysterious Press, has officlally launched a digital publishing venture, MysteriousPress.com. Penzler, who is working with Open Road on the venture, announced plans for the new press in June. Through MysteriousPress.com, he will offer e-book editions of classic msytery titles.

The Web site, in addition to featuring author information, will also have a blog featrued to fans of mystery and suspense works. The imprint is launching with titles from a stable of authors, including James Ellroy, Donald E. Westlake, Ellery Queen and Joseph Wambaugh. Penzler is planning, by year's end, to have more than 200 titles available. Open Road is digitizing all of Penzler's titles, which will be sold through all the major e-book retailers.
