Sourcebooks has signed a deal with the Berenstain Bears creators to release versions of their titles through Sourcebooks’ Put Me In the Story platform, an iPad app and Web site that allows parents to produce personalized versions of children’s books with their kids’ names, pictures and more. Parents will be able to order print-on-demand editions of the print book in June and the Put Me In the Story app will be released in the fall.

Sourcebooks will release The Berenstain Bears’ Home Sweet Tree on the Put Me in the Story platform first to be followed by The Berenstain Bears’ Pet Show and The Berenstain Bears and the Talent Show. Custom POD versions of the print title can be ordered for $32.99. The book will be available through the Put Me In the Story app—which allows parents to put their child into an interactive storyline that tours the Berenstain Bears’ house—in September along with a new print edition for retailers.

The Berenstain Bears are the latest bestselling fanchise to join the Put Me in the Story platform, Sourcebooks has also inked deals with Sesame Street Workshop for Elmo Loves You and with bestselling author Jennifer Fosberry for her picture books My Name Is Not Isabella and My Name Is Not Alexander.
