Following its May purchase of the audiobook publishing business of McGraw-Hill Professional, RBmedia has formed a new business audio brand, Ascent Audio. The M-H Professional purchase added about 400 business audiobooks to the RBmedia list, giving the company a catalog of some 5,000 business titles, chief content officer Troy Juliar said.

The creation of Ascent Audio replaces the Gildan Media brand, and will be home to all business titles produced by RBmedia in partnership with such publishers as Wiley, Harvard Business Review Press, Princeton University Press, Oxford University Press, Mango Publishing Group, and Entrepreneur Press. Backlist and newly published M-H Professional titles will be released under the McGraw Hill-Ascent brand. The Ascent imprint includes business books in categories ranging from professional development, coaching management, entrepreneurship, leadership, investing, and finance.

“Our business audiobook catalog has deep collections of titles from the brightest minds and best thinkers in all the crucial business categories, including leadership, strategy, IT, finance, negotiation, diversity, marketing, and organizational change," Juliar said in a statement. “The power of our partnerships with leading business publishers uniquely positions RBmedia to accelerate our business audio program under the new Ascent Audio brand."
