The German Book Office has announced the 2014 Friedrich Ulfers prize winner as Sara Bershtel, publisher of Metropolitan Books. The award, announced on Tuesday, is now in its second year; translator Carol Brown Janeway took it home in 2013. The GBO said that Bershtel won "for her incredible dissemination of German-language literature in the United States."

The Ulfers Prize is supported by the scholar Friedrich Ulfers, who attached $5,000 to the award. Beshtel will receive her honor in a ceremony in February.
