Two favorite YA authors, Jenny Han and Morgan Matson, can be found side by side at events today at BookCon.

Earlier this month, Jenny Han concluded her Song sisters’ trilogy (Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers), which began with To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and P.S. I Still Love You, with Always and Forever, Lara Jean. The final installment finds Lara Jean having the best senior year a girl could hope for. But change is looming on the horizon. Lara Jean watched her sister go through growing pains, but now Lara Jean is the one who’ll be graduating from high school, leaving for college, and leaving her family—and possibly the boy she loves—behind. Always and Forever, Lara Jean explores this dilemma: when your heart and your head are saying two different things, which one should you listen to?

Also earlier this month—one day earlier than Han’s—The Unexpected Everything, the newest novel from Morgan Matson (author of Since You’ve Been Gone), was published. Andie has a plan. And she always sticks to her plan. She’s going to go to a top-tier medical school; avoid her congressman father as much as possible; stay loyal to her awesome friends; and remember that any relationship with a boy is not worth more than three weeks. But a political scandal costs Andie her summer pre-med internship, and lands both her and Dad back in the same house, together for the first time in years. She is way, way off-plan. Her friends tell her to embrace all the chaos, but can she really let go of her control?
