Reed Exhibitions has released the show hours for this year's BookExpo, which is set to take place at the Javits Convention Center in New York City May 29-31. This year, the show will open on Wednesday at noon and run until 5 p.m. On Thursday, the floor will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., and the show will close on Friday with a 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. schedule.

The timing is a shift from last year, when publishers had the option of exhibiting for three days only at BookExpo or two days at BookExpo and two days at BookCon . Last year's split caused confusion among some booksellers and publishers, who were uncertain which stands were open on Wednesday.

The New York Rights Fair, which last year ran concurrently will BookExpo but at a different location, will be held at the Javits in the same time period as BookExpo.

Reed also announced a new sidelines show, called UnBound, that will start at BookExpo and run through to BookCon, which is set for June 1-2.

UnBound will present a collection of sideline products across 25 categories, incluidng journals, calendars, greeting cards, desk accessories, personal care, candles, science and nature products, toys, games, art materials and artisanal/handmade items.

To direct UnBound, Reed has hired Patti Stracher-Lee as event director. Stracher-Lee previously served as v-p and show director of the National Stationery Show.
