Grand Central Publishing has extended its relationship with bestselling authors Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child in a new deal that will include a new, original series of novels as well as the continuation of their Pendergast novels. The deal, for world rights, was brokered by GCP executive editor Jaime Levine with Eric Simonoff of William Morris Endeavor. The authors will deliver two books in both series with Gideon’s Sword, the first book in the new line--the Gideon Crew series--set for publication in February 2011.A new untitled Pendergast novel will follow in Spring/Summer 2011.

Preston and Child are the coauthors of several bestselling novels featuring FBI Agent Pendergast including most recently Brimstone, Dance of Death, The Book of the Dead, The Wheel of Darkness, Cemetery Dance, and in May 2010, Fever Dream. Douglas Preston’s most recent nonfiction work, The Monster of Florence (June 2008), was a New York Times bestseller and is currently in development with Tom Cruise’s production company. His most recent solo novel, Impact, is currently a Times hardcover bestseller. Lincoln Child’s most recent solo novel, Terminal Freeze, featuring ‘enigmalogist’ Jeremy Logan, was a New York Times bestseller in hardcover and now in mass-market.
