Billy Graham's Nearing Home: Life, Faith, and Finishing Well, the evangelist's first book in five years, was acquired by Thomas Nelson. The book, which the house bought world rights to and has scheduled for October 18, will be released internationally with the publisher doing a Spanish language edition through Grupo Nelson. Thomas Nelson v-p and publisher Matt Baugher summarized the title by saying that it's about "what it means to finish well in this life."

Graham, who is in his nineties, will share his perspective on aging in the book and will also, the publisher said, "teach some important lessons on how to view our time here on Earth." Graham did not use an agent in the deal.

Thomas Nelson has been Graham's publisher since 1992, when it acquired World Publishing, which had been releasing Graham's trade titles, many of which have sold in the million-copy range, since 1975.
