One Signal Rides Glass’s ‘Rainbow’

Psychotherapist Sara Glass sold Black Skirt, Rainbow Soul to One Signal in a six-figure, world rights agreement. The memoir, subtitled My Journey to an Authentic Self and set for spring 2024, was acquired by Julia Cheiffetz and Nick Ciani in a preempt. Harvey Klinger at Harvey Klinger Inc. sold the book and said it will chronicle Glass’s “incredible odyssey” from being raised in an ultra-Orthodox family and married off at 19 to “eventually coming to terms with being gay and finding a path forward beyond the chains of Hasidism that bound her for years.” Glass, who has written a New York Times “Modern Love” column, is a clinical supervisor for Jewish queer youth at Yeshiva University.

Lovering’s ‘Baby’ Goes to St. Martin’s

In a six-figure, two-book, world rights deal, Sarah Cantin at St. Martin’s Press bought Carola Lovering’s Bye Baby. The novel was sold by Allison Hunter at Trellis Literary Management. St. Martin’s said the book, set for winter 2024, is about “the toxic relationship between two women” who were once secret-sharing childhood friends but drifted apart as adults. The pair then reunite when one of their infant daughters is kidnapped. Lovering is the author of 2018’s Tell Me Lies, which has been adapted into a Hulu streaming series.

Harmony Celebrates ‘Love’ with Wade

In a preempt, Harmony’s Shannon Welch took world English rights to Cleo Wade’s Remember Love. The book, Harmony said, is “a collection of never-before-shared clear, honest, generous poems and short prose pieces that are both battle cries and healing balms.” Wade (Heart Talk) mines her experiences to remind us that ‘it’s love, in particular self-love, we most need—especially on our worst days, when we so often abandon ourselves.” The author is an artist and poet, and was represented in the deal by Cait Hoyt at Creative Artists Agency.
