In a seven-figure deal, John Jacobson at Mira acquired world English rights to six books across two series by self-published romance author Sadie Kincaid from Lesley Sabga at the Seymour Agency. Mira, an imprint of Harlequin, will republish the four titles in Kincaid’s Chicago Ruthless series, beginning with Dante in December 2025, followed by a never-before-published duology, Wages of Sin, in 2026.

“MIRA is thrilled to publish Sadie Kincaid, a master of dark romance with a loyal and growing fan base,” said Mira editorial director Susan. “By partnering with one of the genre’s most influential authors, MIRA reinforces its commitment as a leading publisher of bold, in-demand commercial fiction.”

Kincaid’s self-published Chicago Ruthless series, which debuted in 2023, is an “enemies-to-lovers, forced proximity spicy mafia romance,” per the publisher, and the Mira editions will include “bonus content, substantial revisions and expansions to the story.” Wages of Sin similarly centers on a morally grey male interest in a “trend-forward ‘Batman meets Beauty and the Beast’ storyline.” The first volume, The Auction, is set for May 2026, with simultaneous e-book and audio publication.

“It blows my mind every single day that I get to do this for my job,” Kincaid, whose backlist has already sold over 4 million units, said. “Now I get to share stories with even more readers through this incredible partnership with Harlequin and MIRA."
