After purchasing Inkwood Books in Tampa, Fla., a little over two years ago, Stefani Beddingfield is getting her family into the bookselling business. Her sister Julie, who is based in the Northeast, will be opening a second location of the store in New Jersey.

Quiet First Quarter for Books-A-Million
Revenue at Books-A-Million fell 1.9% in the first quarter ended May 2, 2015 compared to last year’s first period. Net loss at the chain was cut to $5.3 million, from $5.6 million.

Indigo Cuts Loss on 3% Sales Increase
Total revenue rose 3% at Indigo Books & Music in the year ended March 28, 2015 over fiscal 2014, and its net loss fell from $31 million last year to $3.5 million in fiscal 2015.
