August Bookstore Sales Dropped 30.7%
Bookstore sales tumbled 30.7% in August compared to August 2019, putting an end to a brief rally that saw the rate of sales declines slowing compared to 2019.

B&N Systems Hacked
In an email to customers, Barnes & Noble said that on October 10 it learned of "a cybersecurity attack" that resulted in unauthorized access to certain B&N corporate systems. The hack attacked systems that contain some customer information and also impacted some store operations, which are now said to be "up and running."
