Hundreds of book and gift items from Vroman’s Bookstore and Book Soup will be on sale through April 30 in a pop-up shop at Arcade Lane, directly across the street from the landmark Pasadena indie on Colorado Boulevard. The shop will be open daily from noon to 8:00pm.

“Good timing led to the use of the space in the Arcade,” said Jennifer Ramos, promotional director for Vroman’s. “It had recently been vacated and we found out it would be empty for another month or so. In the past, we’ve had such a great response to our Annual Tent Sale that it seemed an obvious choice to take advantage of the open space and extend these fantastic deals to our customers over a month’s time.”

Items in the pop-up shop, which is 1,058 square feet, are reduced 75% or more, and include books of all genres as well as stationery and décor items from Vroman’s vast inventory. New and different stock will be added to the shop daily. “There are some real treasures to uncover, and everything is on clearance,” Ramos said. In 2009 Vroman’s purchased Book Soup in West Hollywood after Glenn Goldman, its owner, died and the store was in danger of closing. The two stores combined now represent one of the largest indies in the West. The Vroman’s pop-up is located at 696 Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena.
