Queen Henry (the Fourth)

Emily Henry has the #1 bestselling book in the country with her fourth novel, Happy Place, a summery romp that “has the makings of a rom-com classic,” per our starred review. Since her adult debut in 2020, Henry has become something of a queen of the contemporary romance scene. Her past three entries—2020’s Beach Read, 2021’s People We Meet on Vacation, and 2022’s Book Lovers—have all been optioned for film adaptations. It’s only a matter of time before the rights to Happy Place, which had the best first-week sales of Henry’s ascendant career, get snatched up as well.

Love the Sinner

Ana Huang’s latest romance series, King of Sin, is off to an auspicious start, with the first two installments, King of Wrath and King of Pride, coming in at #4 and #18, respectively, on our adult trade paperback list. The series is the follow-up to Huang’s Twisted Love series, the first two installments of which also appear on this week’s adult trade paperback list at #8 and #19, respectively.

Make It Rainn

The Office star Rainn Wilson has the #7 title on our adult nonfiction list with Soul Boom, a guide to achieving “spiritual self-awareness’ and “finding hope in a cynical world,” per our starred review. His third book, after 2010’s SoulPancake and 2015’s The Bassoon King, establishes Wilson, an outspoken practitioner of the Bahá’í faith, as not just an actor but a burgeoning voice in the spirituality category.
