7/1: Ed Brubaker at Berkeley Public Library in Berkeley, CA

As part of the Berkeley Comic Arts Festival, writer Ed Brubaker (Fatale, Captain America, Winter Soldier) will be discussing his impressive career at the Berkeley Public Library from 6-7:30 p.m. PDT. Topics range from his work for DC and Marvel, including orchestrating the “death of Captain America,” to his more independent projects like Criminal and the popular noir-horror series, Fatale. 7/4-7/7: Florida Supercon in Miami, FL

The eighth annual Florida Supercon will take place from Thursday, July 4th to July 7th at the Miami Airport Convention Center. Programming includes creator Q and As, film screenings, cosplay contests, panels, workshops, a music festival with over 50 bands, a board gaming room, portfolio reviews, artist spotlights, and much more. Comics guests include Al Plastino (Legion of Superheroes), Dave Gibbons (Watchmen), Jerome Opeña (Avengers), Olivier Coipel (Avengers Vs. X-Men), Bob Layton (Iron Man) and more. Single day tickets range from $25-30, with three-day and four-day passes at $60 and $70 (respectively) at the door, and VIP passes are $199 (limited availability). 7/4-7/7: Anime Expo in Los Angeles, CA

Now in its 21st year, Anime Expo is North America’s largest anime convention; a four day celebration of Japanese animation and culture being held at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Programming includes panels, Q and A sessions with industry icons, an exhibit hall, artist alley, charity auction, a cosplay masquerade, concerts featuring top J-Pop acts, video and tabletop gaming, a manga lounge and lectures. 1-Day tickets are $40, 2-Day are $40 and 4-Day range from $25 (children ages 6-12) to $70, registration recommended.
