1/20: Douglas Wolk in San Francisco, CA

Writer and journalist Douglas Wolk will be giving a brief talk on the history of Judge Dredd to mark the release of his new miniseries, Judge Dredd: Mega-City Two on Monday, January 20th at 7 p.m. at Mission: Comics & Art in San Francisco, California. The new miniseries, illustrated in jaw-dropping detail by Ulises Farinas, finds Dredd in the West Coast megalopolis, where crime is just as rampant, but the law works a little differently than it does in Mega-City One. 1/23: Dave McKean Retrospective in Royal Turnbridge Wells, Kent, U.K.

An exhibition featuring the work of fantasy artist Dave McKean will begin on Wednesday, January 23rd and run through March 30 at the Turnbridge Wells Museum & Art Gallery in Royal Turnbridge Wells, Kent, United Kingdom. McKean has worked in graphic arts for nearly 30 years, creating comics, book and album covers, posters, films, and is best known for his innovative and surreal covers for Neil Gaiman's The Sandman. 1/24-1/26: Amazing Arizona Comic Con in Phoenix, AZ
