As the last days of Baker & Taylor approaches, the GA Group, the company overseeing the liquidation of the library wholesaler's remaining inventory, has sent out notices offering a bulk sale for all remaining books.
According to the brief memo from the GA Group, there are 465,208 books for sale that have a total list price of $7,842,474. Books come from publishers ranging from the Big Five to self-published authors. A large number of titles come from B&T's publishing arm, Paw Prints Publishing. The memo goes on to note that the GA Group is "looking for offers for entirety of the remaining inventory," which it says features all new books.
All the books are located in B&T's Momence, Ill., distribution center. Interested parties have until the end of the day on January 7 to submit an offer, and the GA Group will begin to review offers on January 8.
The closeout sale is one of the final steps in B&T meeting its goal of shutting down its operations by the end of January following the collapse of its sale to ReaderLink.
