Licensing Expo, held May 24–26 in Las Vegas, always features lots of interesting and sometimes odd sights and sounds, and this year’s back-to-in-person event was no exception. Here is a taste of some of our observations from Expo 2022.

Pac-man was hungry for licensing executives at the Bandai-Namco booth.

The young singing group XOMG POP, put together by Nickelodeon star JoJo Siwa and her mother, posed in front of giant Funko Squid Game figurines.

Model, businesswoman, and licensor Kathy Ireland’s holographic self was revealed.

CoComelon star Blippi networked with an attendee.

A jaunty Squishmallow walked the aisles near licensor Jazwares’ booth.

Crayola’s colorful sneaker line was on display.

The 1988 film Killer Klowns from Outer Space is back.

Costumes worn during the production of Dune.

The spotlight was on Barbie and her collaboration with Balmain Paris.

Characters from Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, set for a 2023 release from Warner Bros.

The Universal Brand Development booth was all about Trolls.

Attendees drove Monster Jam’s famed Grave Digger with the aid of virtual reality.

Run DMC’s Darryl McDaniels promoted his Young DMC brand (and his Darryl’s Dream children’s book from Random House) at Paramount. The video screen behind showed a doll of That Girl Lay Lay (books by Scholastic).
