This morning, Today consulted childhood development and behavior expert Betsy Brown Braun, whose You're Not the Boss of Me: Brat-Proofing Your Four- to Twelve-Year-Old Child (Harper, 978-0061346637, $15.99) is just out this week.

The Diane Rehm Show featured Pulitzer-winning nonfiction author and Harvard entomology professor E. O. Wilson and his first novel, Anthill (W. W. Norton, 978-0393071191, $24.95). PW starred its review: "Wilson channels Huck Finn in his creative coming-of-age debut novel. Lush with organic details, Wilson's keen eye for the natural world and his acumen for environmental science is on brilliant display in this multifaceted story about human life and its connection to nature."

On The Leonard Lopate Show, Anchee Min discussed her latest novel Pearl of China (Bloomsbury USA, 978-1596916975, $24). PW explained: "As a girl in Maoist China, Min was ordered to denounce Pearl S. Buck; now she offers a thin sketch of the Nobel laureate's life from the point of view of fictional Willow Yee, a fiercely loyal friend. Though the setting and revolutionary backdrop are inherently dramatic, Min's account of an epic friendship is curiously low-key, with some sections reading more like a treatment than a narrative."

This evening on The 700 Club : Paul Coughlin, author of No More Jellyfish, Chickens or Wimps: Raising Secure, Assertive Kids in a Tough World (Bethany House, 978-0764205804, $13.99).

Tonight, Tavis Smiley talks with economics journalist Steven Solomon, author of Water: The Epic Struggle for Wealth, Power, and Civilization (Harper, 978-0060548308, $27.99), which PW said makes "a compelling case that the U.S. and other leading democracies have untapped strategic advantages that will only become more significant as water becomes scarcer."
