Hachette Book Group has hired two new senior-level employees in its New York office. Kate Hartson is now senior editor for the Center Street imprint, and Andrea Glickson is marketing director for the FaithWords and Center Street imprints. The hirings follow Hachette’s announcement in late April that it would be centralizing all of FaithWords’ and Center Street’s marketing in New York. Most editorial is still based in Nashville, Tenn.
Hartson has worked in publishing for more than 25 years. She most recently owned her own company, Yorkville Press, where she published Dean Koontz and The Monks of New Skete, and created books for nonprofits including Canine Companions for Independence. (Yorkville has since closed.) She previously was v-p and executive editor at Time Life Books, and a v-p at Random House, where she created the Wings Books hardcover reprint program. Glickson, also a 25-year industry vet, was most recently director of publicity and marketing for Octopus Books USA. She formerly worked in publicity and marketing at Workman Publishing.
The company also announced that editor Christina Boys, who works in Nashville, will now focus exclusively on acquiring fiction for both FaithWords and Center Street imprints. FaithWords and Center Street senior v-p Rolf Zettersten said the appointments “help fulfill the strategic realignment we announced last month. We are excited to have strengthened our team with such experienced and dynamic publishing professionals.”
