Marlene Blessing has moved to the editorial director position in Interweave’s book division. Before her arrival at Interweave in 2005, Blessing was editor-in-chief at Fulcrum Publishing and editor-in-chief at Alaska Northwest Books. She is currently an instructor at the Denver Publishing Institute and has served on Interweave Book Acquisition board. Blessing replaces former editorial director Tricia Waddell, who is now editor-in-chief of Interweave’s Stitch magazine.
Anne Rogers is joining Simon & Schuster September 7 as director, specialty wholesale and mail order. Rogers was most recently at Sterling, where, as a director, she managed and sold across a range of special sales areas. Before that, Rogers worked in special sales at Scholastic, DK Publishing, and William Morrow.
The Common Review, the quarterly magazine of the Great Books Foundation, has named Danny Postel its new editor beginning with the fall 2010 issue. Postel was previously senior editor of openDemocracy, an online magazine based in London, a staff writer for The Chronicle of Higher Education, and an editor for the online magazine of Encyclopædia Britannica.
