Jill Schwartzman has joined Hyperion as senior editor. She will focus on acquiring books in pop culture, humor, memoir, biography, narrative nonfiction, popular history, and “up-market” commercial fiction. Schwartzman began her publishing career at HarperCollins in 2003 and left in 2006 as editor to join Random House Trade Paperbacks, where she was senior editor from 2006 through August 2010. At Harper, she edited Kevin Baker, Bernard Cornwell, and Phillip Margolin. At Random, she edited Stuff White People Like by Christian Lander, Gotcha Capitalism by Bob Sullivan, and other books.
