Andrew Pate has been named director of digital and program sales at Edwards Brothers. Hiring Pate in the newly-created position is part of Edwards Brothers’ continuing push into the short-run offset, digital, and print-on-demand book and journal manufacturing segment. Edwards opened its first digital book center in 1997. Pate was most recently senior v-p of business development for On Demand Books, LLC, the company that makes the Espresso Book Machine. Before that, Pate was an executive at Lulu.com.

PEN American Center has named László Jakab Orsós director of the World Voices Festival and Public Programs. Orsós comes to PEN from the Hungarian Cultural Center, where, as its director, he launched Extremely Hungary, a series of public events celebrating Hungarian culture. He will replace Caro Llewellyn, who in June was named the producer of the New York Public Library’s centennial celebrations to be held next year.
