Former Houghton Mifflin Houghton publicist Emer Flounders has moved to Simon & Schuster, where he starts today as a senior publicist. Flounders was at HMH for five years.
At Rodale, Shannon Welch has been promoted to senior editor. Welch will be in charge of Runner's World and Bicycling books, working with the staffs of both magazines to develop and produce branded book projects. She will also continue to acquire non-branded narrative and service titles for the general Rodale list. Additionally, Gena Smith has been promoted to associate editor. Smith joined Rodale in 2008 and has worked on such titles as Thomas Goetz's The Decision Tree and The Doctors 5-Minute Health Fixes.
