Mark Polizzotti has been appointed publisher and editor-in-chief at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he will oversee all aspects of the Museum’s scholarly publishing program. Polizzotti was most recently director of intellectual property and publisher at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Prior to that, he was editorial director at David R. Godine, senior editor at Grove Weidenfeld, and assistant editor at Random House.

Rob Crawford has been named editor at The Overlook Press. Crawford had been at HarperCollins, where he was an assistant editor, since 2006. At HC he acquired titles including Witness to America by Douglas Brinkley, Bible Babel by Kristin Swenson, and United States of Americana by Kurt B. Reighley.

At Abrams, Susan Van Metre has been promoted to senior v-p and publisher, overseeing all comic arts books in addition to Abrams Books for Young Readers and Amulet Books. Also at Abrams, Charles Kochman was promoted to editorial director for Abrams ComicArts, adding oversight of children’s comics and graphic novels. Kochman will now report to Susan Van Metre.
