Stephen Black has joined Simon & Schuster in the newly-created position of v-p, client publisher services. Black, who is responsible for the company’s distribution client relationships including new business development, reports to Dennis Eulau, evp, operations and chief financial officer. Black was formerly co-founder and COO of CDS, the provider of distribution and outsourcing services for publishers, which the Perseus Book Group bought in 2005. Black was president of the combined Perseus/CDS distribution operation and has also held management positions at Random House.
