Ruta Drummond, former children’s book buyer for Borders Group, Inc., has joined Tiger Tales as associate publisher. Drummond will work with the Tiger Tales team to further develop the company’s publishing program. Drummond was at Borders for more than 25 years.
Publishing association PubWest has elected a new president, Derek Lawrence, and vice president, Dave Trendler. Lawrence and Trendler will lead the PubWest membership during two-year terms, focusing on growing the association's membership, increasing its services to member companies, and helping independent publishers become more profitable in the face of a challenging publishing environment. Lawrence is director of retail sales at Interweave Press and has served PubWest as vice president. Trendler is marketing and publicity manager for VeloPress.
