Robert Guth has been named president and CEO, effective immediately, of Reader’s Digest. Guth is a member of the board and succeeds Tom Williams who has left the company. Guth joined RDA’s Board of Directors in April 2011 and brings more than 25 years of experience in the technology and telecommunications sector, including four years as CEO and two years as Chairman of telecommunications company TelCove, a restructured business which he grew into a high-performing industry leader.

Lauren Wein has been named senior editor at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt. She was most recently an editor at Grove/Atlantic where, over her 15-year career, she also served as rights director. She has edited writers such as Patricia Engel (Vida) and Steve Hely (How I Became a Famous Novelist). Wein will start at HMH's New York office on October 3.

Karen Kosztolnyik has joined Gallery Books as executive editor, effective September 19, 2011. Kosztolnyik comes from Grand Central Publishing, where she spent the last ten years, first as senior editor and most recently, executive editor. During her time there, she edited a wide variety of New York Times bestsellers, including Dewey by Vicki Myron and Bret Witter.
