Perseus has added three new staffers to its Argo Navis Author Services unit. Formed last year, Argo Navis will handle digital distribution and marketing for authors who want to self-publish titles and who are represented by established agents. Janklow & Nesbit and Curtis Brown are the only two agencies to have signed with Argo Navis thus far, though new deals are expected to be announced soon. Clare Peeters, v-p of business development, who oversees the unit, said the additions to the staff are in response “to the extremely positive, and growing, reaction from agents and authors.”

Among the new staffers are Kera Yonker, who comes on board as a client services and marketing managers. Yonker, along with Jennifer Dedman, who has the same title, will handle, as Perseus put it, "the front line of service," guiding agencies through the process of bringing their authors into the fold. Yonker was in the publisher services division at LibreDigital, and Dedman arrives from the Boulder, Co., office of Perseus, where she worked in the production department. Soctt Horst has also been added to the team, as digital content project editor; he joined Perseus in 2010, also out of Boulder, working as the digital asset coordinator for Constellation.
