Amber Qureshi has left Viking. Qureshi, an up-and-coming literary editor profiled in PW's 2008 series 50 Under 40, was at Free Press before she joined Viking in 2011. She was executive editor at the Penguin imprint, and a spokesperson for Viking said the now-open position will "most likely" be filled.

Qureshi, who was at Knopf before joining Free Press, has edited such books as the NBCC-winning anthology Voices From Chernobyl; Aravind Adiga's Man Booker-winning The White Tiger; and Joshua Clark's memoir, Heart Like Water, which was an NBCC finalist.
