Robbin Reynolds, who retired from Workman Publishing as general manager in 1996, died on December 19, in Essex, Conn. Before joining Workman she was a senior editor at Harper & Row where she published such best sellers as In Search of Excellence: Lessons from America's Best-Run Companies, by Thomas Peters and Robert Waterman. At Workman, Reynolds was instrumental in computerizing the office and implementing electronic ordering. She partnered with the Banta Group to create merchandising solutions using corrugated displays and pallet programs. These were trailblazing systems and are still used today.
