The board of directors of the Feminist Press announced Jennifer Baumgardner as the new publisher and executive director. Baumgardner follows Gloria Jacobs, who retired after having led the Feminist Press since 2006.

Baumgardner is a feminist journalist, filmmaker, speaker, and writer. She has contributed to Glamour, The Nation, Harper’s Bazaar, and the New York Times, and is the author of six books, including Look Both Ways: Bisexual Politics, and Abortion & Life.

Founded in 1970, The Feminist Press is an independent, nonprofit literary publisher that promotes freedom of expression and social justice. It operates out of the City University of New York.
