Melina Gerosa Bellows has been promoted to publisher of National Geographic Books, adding responsibility for sales, marketing and distribution to her current role as National Geographic’s chief creative officer for Books, Kids and Family. Her appointment as publisher was announced by Declan Moore, National Geographic’s president of Publishing and Travel, to whom Bellows reports.

Gerosa Bellows will lead the editorial and design teams for National Geographic Books, Children’s Books, Kids and Little Kids magazines as well as all of the Society’s kids and family product lines, including digital platform extensions.

“Melina and her talented Books team have produced double-digit growth over each of the past three years," said Moore. "Her consumer insight, vision and expertise have earned her the title of publisher. She has assembled a great team, and I am looking to her to fuel further growth in this important business."

Gerosa Bellows was previously executive vice president of Children’s Publishing, overseeing the Children’s Book Division and serving as editor in chief of National Geographic Kids.
