Gaiman, Eggers Honor Bradbury in Tribute Book
Called Shadow Show, the book will be a collection of short stories from 26 authors honoring Bradbury and his contribution to the literary canon. The book will feature work from Dave Eggers, Neil Gaiman, and Margaret Atwood, among others.

Macmillan Puts Its Green Foot Forward
John Sargent is well-known in publishing circles for doing things a little differently than most CEOs (see his stance in the Department of Justice lawsuit over the agency pricing model), and that also applies to his approach to Macmillan’s environmental efforts. More than two years ago, Sargent named industry veteran and now consultant Bill Barry to review all of Macmillan’s operations with the goal of determining the most efficient ways to lower the company’s carbon footprint. In a meeting at Macmillan’s headquarters in the Flatiron Building last month, the two men discussed how, after reviewing reams of information that sometimes produce conflicting recommendations, they set a goal of reducing the company’s carbon footprint by 65% by 2019 from a 2009 baseline.

The Shades Juggernaut: 46, 26, 13
Sales of the Fifty Shades trilogy show no signs of slowing down. For the week ended May 27 sales rose for all three titles with Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed both seeing sales gains of 13% each at the outlets tracked by Nielsen BookScan. Sales of Fifty Shades of Grey increased 7% over the prior week.

Tracking Amazon: New 'Modernist Cuisine' Book Skyrockets
Though it won't be published until October, Modernist Cuisine at Home has already jumped to #130 on Amazon's bestseller list, from a previously unranked spot. The new cookbook is meant to make the elaborate contents of high-end cookbook Modernist Cuisine more accessible for home kitchens. It's priced at $140.
