Boulder, Colo.-based sports publisher VeloPress is the latest house to sign with four-and-a-half year old Ingram Publisher Services (IPS), which will handle both trade sales and fulfillment. The press will continue to manage direct sales to specialty retailers and distributors in the endurance sports industry.

“VeloPress has seen steady sales increases for the past five years,” says publisher Ted Costantino. “Our new agreement with IPS is going to boost our visibility and market presence even more.” Its new release, The Time-Crunched Cyclist (Aug.) by Chris Carmichael, the personal cycling coach to Lance Armstrong, is off to a strong start and sold 3,000 copies in the first month. The company’s bestsellers include Joe Friel’s The Triathlete’s Training Bible (over 200,000 copies sold) and Lennard Zinn’s Zinn and the Art of Road Bike Maintenance (over 120,000 copies sold).

For IPS general manager Mark Ouimet, “VeloPress is a great addition to Ingram Publisher Services.” At the end of August, IPS had 65 clients.
